Daves Creek Circuit, Lamington National Park

The World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park is renowned as Australia's largest subtropical rainforest. Daves Creek Circuit nestled within the Binna Burra section is home to lush and ancient vegetation, created by ideal warm and wet conditions. Lace your boots for a full day of hiking starting at the Border Track for two kilometres. Spot ancient angiosperms such as coachwood (Ceratopetalum apetalum) and patches of piccabeen palms on-route to Nixon Creek Valley and Daves Creek. Wet sclerophyll forests later emerge with giant New England blackbutt (Eucalyptus campanulata) near the Ship's Stern junction. Follow the signed markers to the circuit's most eastern point at Numinbah lookout with views of Springbrook, Mt Hobwee, Araucaria lookout and the Numinbah Valley - dotted in colourful wildflowers during spring.
